Payment & Refund Policy

How payments, cancellations and refunds work for design, development and maintenance projects.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This policy covers payments, cancellations and refunds for design, development and maintenance work by Mothersoft Technologies. It is part of our Terms of Service. Where your proposal sets different terms, the proposal applies.

Refunds for Motherhost hosting, domains, email and SSL follow the Motherhost refund terms.

1. Prices and invoices

  • Prices are quoted in Indian rupees. GST is added as applicable and shown on every invoice.
  • Add your GSTIN and billing address before the first invoice so it appears on all of them.
  • Clients outside India are invoiced in the currency stated in the proposal.

2. When payments are due

  • Projects: an advance (50% unless the proposal says otherwise) before work starts, and the balance in the milestones set out in the proposal, with the final payment due before launch or hand-over.
  • Change requests: billed when the change is approved, or with the next milestone.
  • Maintenance plans: billed monthly, quarterly or yearly in advance, as chosen.
  • Invoices are due within 7 days of the invoice date unless the invoice says otherwise.

3. How to pay

You can pay by bank transfer (NEFT, RTGS or IMPS), UPI, or the online payment link on your invoice. Payment gateway charges for international cards, if any, are shown before you pay.

4. Late payments

If an invoice is more than 15 days overdue, we may pause work until it is paid, and the timeline moves accordingly. We will remind you before pausing. Completed work is handed over, and the site or app is launched, only after the related invoices are paid.

5. Cancelling a project

  • Before work starts: the advance is refunded in full, less any payment gateway charges.
  • After work starts: you pay for work completed up to the cancellation date, worked out from the milestones and the time spent. If that is less than you have paid, we refund the difference; if more, we invoice the balance.
  • Completed and approved milestones are not refundable.
  • Once the balance is settled, we hand over all completed work.

To cancel, email [email protected] from the address on your proposal.

6. Maintenance plans

You can cancel a maintenance plan at any time. It stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. Partly used periods are not refunded.

7. What is never refundable

  • Third-party costs paid on your behalf: themes, plugins, fonts, stock images, software licences and API credits.
  • Google Play and Apple developer account fees and other store charges.
  • Domain registrations, hosting and SSL certificates (see the Motherhost terms).
  • Government taxes and payment gateway charges.

8. If you are not happy with the work

Tell us first. Each stage has review rounds, and we fix anything that does not match the agreed scope at no extra cost. Our aim is to put things right before any question of a refund.

9. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method, or by bank transfer, within 7 working days of approval. Your bank may take a few more days to show the credit. Where GST was charged, we issue a credit note.

10. Delivery of services

Our services are delivered online: designs and builds are shared on staging links, and finished work is handed over by launching it on your hosting or app store accounts, or by sending the source code and files. Nothing is shipped physically.
